Hares Corner to remain open
The Governor pointed specifically to Senator Tom Carper’s critical role as Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Federal Financial Management, Government Information, Federal Services, and International Security “for focusing attention on the value of the Hares Corner facility and the commitment of its workers.”
“Senator Carper was absolutely tireless in his efforts and advocacy for the workers and their families. His intricate knowledge of the postal system and his unflagging optimism that the facility could be saved helped carry the day,” Markell said.
